James Kelliher

Associate

James is an associate in our Data Breach team. He has vast experience in data breach law, and has been successful on several multi-claimant and group action claims.

Before joining Keller Postman UK, James worked at Hayes Connor Solicitors, where he played a crucial role in helping to develop the practice. He was also the firm’s certified Data Protection Officer. As part of this role, James was responsible for providing data protection training to meet the needs of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). He also helped monitor internal compliance, informed and advised on data protection obligations, provided advice on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), and acted as a contact point for data subjects and the supervisory authority. Today, his in-depth knowledge of what is necessary to secure GDPR compliance within a business is instrumental as we carry out data breach investigations on behalf of our clients.

Before his legal career, James spent many years assisting and supporting victims of serious crime whilst working at Victim Support. In this role, he worked closely with multi-agencies, police forces and local authorities and played a leading role in helping people to obtain compensation for criminal injuries.

With significant experience negotiating with defendants, James knows what it takes to reach a quick and satisfactory resolution – always in the best interest of his clients.

James studied Business & Information Technology at University.
